Music
The Worship and Music Ministry of First Burk exists to lead the body of Christ in worship and praise of God. It consists of choir groups for several age groups: preschool, children, students, and adults. Instrumentalists also lead in worship.
Worship Choir
Our Worship Choir leads in worship each Sunday in our 10:30 service. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00pm in the choir room on the third floor of the main building. No auditions are required to participate in the Worship Choir.
In addition to weekly worship services, the choir also prepares musicals for both seasonal and non-seasonal worship experiences in the church and community. Contact Chris Jones for more information.
Worship Orchestra
Our Worship Orchestra plays weekly in our 10:30 worship service. The orchestra accompanies congregational worship as well as most choral anthems. The orchestra has also accompanied major musical productions such as the annual Christmas production. Worship Orchestra meets weekly Wednesday evenings from 5:30-6:30 in the Parlor, which is directly behind the auditorium on the piano side exit. Orchestra is open to adults and students with at least one year of high school playing experience. Contact Chris Jones for more information.
Worship Band
The Our Worship Band is made up of our rhythm instruments: drums, guitars, percussion, and keyboards. Along with the Orchestra, they accompany each of our morning worship services. The band typically rehearses each Thursday at 4:30pm. If you are interested in playing guitar, drums, or keys with our band, please contact Chris Jones.
Senior Adult Choir
The Senior Adult Choir, also known as Melody Makers Choir, meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at 3:00pm in the Fellowship Center. The choir sings periodically in our worship services and at special events at the church and around the community. Contact our Associate Pastor, Joe Coombes, for more information.
